The Doctrine
Argent Comics was created to redefine what comic books can be: editions for collectors who want something beyond entertainment, where stories are transformed into enduring artefacts.
Our mission takes a different path built on small limitations, uncompromising craft, and production methods rarely used in comics.
Every title is an experiment in the extraordinary.
The Atelier
Everything we create is built by Aurelian Hands, our in-house production team. They blend innovative techniques with time-honoured bookmaking skills to push the limits of print and
binding.
For colour work, we use giclée printing, known for its archival quality, depth, and longevity. For black-and-white titles, we revive letterpress, whose tactile impression brings monochrome storytelling to life with depth and character.
Some ideas demand new approach entirely. When developing our first giclée graphic novel, there was no suitable paper for our needs. We comissioned Hahnemühle to produce a custom version
of the silvery Photo Rag® Metallic exclusively for us. Nearly 8 km of it ensures a long future for Argent’s vision.
The Atomic Law
At Argent Comics, 47 copies is not a limitation—it’s a consequence.
The amount of hand work, specialised materials, and experimental processes make large runs impossible. From the beginning, we knew the editions would be small, somewhere around fifty copies.
The silvery paper naturally led us to silver.
The name “Argent” comes from argentum, the Latin word for silver, and silver’s atomic number is 47. And thus the stars aligned and the universe conspired it to be.

A: A giclée print is a high-quality, archival digital fine art print made with specialized, high-resolution inkjet printers that spray millions of pigment-based ink droplets onto archival paper or canvas.

A: Letterpress is a centuries-old relief printing method where a raised, inked surface is pressed into paper, leaving a debossed, tactile impression. First popularized by Gutenberg, it remains unmatched in depth, character, and feel.
For black and white printing, its organic, tactile qualities make it a superior choice.
